As President AFFWA (L) in Gwalior, she conceptualised the idea of Parent Support Groups (PSG) for the welfare of children with special needs in early 2012. It proved to be very successful in bridging the gap between AFFWA, station administration and medical personnel and the parents. This was subsequently taken up as AFFWA policy and introduced at a pan-Air Force level. Today every station which has the requisite number of such children has a PSG. Her welfare initiatives and areas of interest are enhancing facilities for children with special needs; instilling gender-sensitivity in schools and society; adopting environmentally-friendly measures as families. And in stations; encouraging reading, writing, speaking and creative skills among children and ladies; inspiring and actively helping military spouses take care of their health, study further and work; and helping develop and foster humane ways of expanding animal welfare.

She loves reading, writing, baking, gardening, music and art. She was Chief Editor of the Sangini Magazine 2022 which uniquely introduced specially commissioned artwork, calligraphy and original prints. She is an animal-lover who has been adopting stray dogs from the streets and currently has two - one from Udhampur and the other from Noida.
